Dongkuk CM GIX Zn-Al-Mg Coated Steel Sheet (Zn 94% Al 4% Mg 2%)

GIX is a hot-dip zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coated steel sheet (Zn 94%, Al 4%, Mg 2%) for applications requiring high corrosion resistance. Per Dongkuk, it delivers 5-7 times the corrosion resistance of conventional GI.

Key features

  • 5-7 times higher corrosion resistance than existing GI (per brochure)
  • Self-sealing: Mg promotes a Simonkolleite film that protects cut edges and scratches
  • Works with existing GI roll forming, press and welding processes
  • Strong paint adhesion as a base for powder coating and PCM colour-coated sheet
  • Fine spangle and high gloss; usable unpainted for exteriors
